GREASEMAX is activated by screwing the activating cap into the base of the lubricator. This automatically screws in the pre-assembled activation screw and presses a gas generator into the sealed reaction membrane.
This contains an electrolyte liquid (KOH), which activates a galvanic reaction. The generated gas expands the membrane. This process continuously moves a steel piston, which is located between the membrane and the lubricant, forwards. In this way, the lubricant is reliably dispensed in constant quantities.
Yes, GREASEMAX has been designed to ensure that the silver piston is clearly visible on the transparent plastic cone at the end of the running time.
Caution:
When using MoS₂ and graphite greases or heavily coloured lubricants, the piston may not be clearly visible after the lubricator has run out.
GREASEMAX must always be changed by observing the dispensing time, not the empty indicator.
The cross-sectional drawing illustrates the function and structure of GREASEMAX.
Areas of application, lubrication points and operating conditions vary a lot in practice.
We recommend first determining the lubricant requirement of the lubrication point.
The machine's maintenance instructions are generally used for this purpose.
The following factors must be taken into account:
Degree of utilization of the machine, condition of the lubrication point and its sealing, weather influences, dust, dirt, etc.
The following guide values support your selection:
* Reference temperature 25 °C
For shaft diameters over 160 mm, we recommend connecting two lubricators with a T- or Y-connector. This doubles the dispensing volume.

Application-related questions
Yes, if you lubricate with a hand lever grease gun, for example, a relatively large amount of lubricant is used.
Lubricant is already lost when filling the grease gun. A considerable amount is often squeezed past the grease nipple. In the event of over-lubrication, lubricant is pressed through the bearing unused and the system is contaminated as a result. This does not happen with GREASEMAX. The lubricant is fed directly to the lubrication point without loss.
You can connect two lubricators using a T- or the Y-connector. This doubles the amount of lubricant dispensed. Please only use lubricators with the same running time.
No. An even distribution of the lubricant to several lubrication points would not be guaranteed. The lubricant always chooses the path of least resistance. As a result, one lubrication point would inevitably be supplied with too little lubricant and suffer damage.
Yes, even under water GREASEMAX guarantees a reliable supply of lubricant to the lubrication point.
Before activation:
The start cover and activation screw are color-coded. Make sure that the color of the start cover and the activation screw in the base ofGREASEMAX match.
1. screw the starter cap firmly into the base of the lubricator by hand.
While the start cover is being screwed in, you will feel and hear the plastic base of the membrane break through with a "CLACK".Continue turning the starter cover until it is firmly seated.
2. tighten the starter cover firmly using a screwdriver or similar tool (lever)
(about 1/4 turn).
This is important to ensure a seal that is impermeable to pressure. Do not loosen or remove the start cover.
GREASEMAX is now activated and the pressure build-up begins.
GREASEMAX requires the following start-up times:
Type: 1 month running time / white - start-up time approx. 8 hours
Type: 3 months running time / blue - start-up time approx. 24 hours
Type: 6 months running time / red - start-up time approx. 30 hours
Type: 12 months running time / gray - start-up time approx. 48 hours
Before installing GREASEMAX for the first time, we recommend cleaning and pre-lubricating the lubrication point. This ensures that the lubrication paths are not blocked by old, hardened lubricant and that the bearing shell is filled with grease. Pre-lubrication is no longer necessary for subsequent replacements.
As GREASEMAX is under operating pressure during use, this would escape if it were unscrewed. Lubricant would then be pressed out. The chemical reaction that generates the pressure may no longer be strong enough to generate the required operating pressure again.
If the lubricator is screwed on again, the result may be insufficient lubrication.
GREASEMAX can be installed in all positions, even under water.

And what about special fillings?
In addition to our standard range, special fillings are also available quickly and flexibly.
Standard lubricant program and special fillings
We have selected only high-quality lubricants with large performance reserves for GREASEMAX. Our standard range covers the most common applications.
We will be happy to advise you on selecting the right lubricant. We will be pleased to provide you with information on special fillings with the lubricant of your choice. Request for special fillings
When using oil, a non-return valve must be fitted to prevent un intentional draining.
Direct installation: Use anon-return valve between the lubrication point and GREASEMAX.
Indirect installation: Use of a non-return valve at the lubrication point.
